The Manhattan Overtures- This is a set of five tone poems based on five different places in Manhattan. They are: Cooper Union Square, Columbus Circle, Belvedere Lake, Bleecker Street and Times Square. The instrumentation is: double winds, double horns, triple brass, perc., harp, piano, and full strings. The style is very tonal, but aggressive at times! Written in 1992.
